This product spotlight is all about celebrating Women’s History Month. What originally started as one resource turned into four and then into an entire bundle!

When I was brainstorming about Women’s History Month I knew that I wanted to create at least one activity that had students researching and writing about women who have made a positive impact on our world. This first activity quickly multiplied as I thought about incorporating different learning styles and my desire to highlight both well-known women and women that students have in their own lives.
You’ll first get to read a short description of each of the projects included in the bundle. Then I’ll describe the assessment & feedback resource that is also included in the bundle. Finally, I’ll give you a little more detail about some of the great product features that EACH PRODUCT has and the freebie you’ll receive when you purchase!
Without further ado, here are the five main resources included in my Women’s History Month Activities | Project Choice Bundle.
1. Spotlight on a Woman

On a basic level, this activity is a research project. Students will get to choose a woman to research and gather information about her to complete their graphic organizer.
On a deeper level, students will use this experience to then reflect on THEIR OWN lives and the impact that they want to have on the world.
2. Interviewing a Woman

This project is more about highlighting women students KNOW; women students have a relationship with in their day-to-day life. This brings the spotlight on “everyday women”. Students can choose someone IN THEIR OWN LIFE to interview – whether it be a family member, school or curricular activity staff, or community leader.
Again, there is a spot for a reflection at the end of this project. Students analyze how the person they have interviewed has made an impact on their own life.
3. “Top 5” Notable Women
While five might seem a big jump from just one person, this is a research project that doesn’t delve quite as deep as Spotlight on a Woman. It’s a little bit of a combination of the first two. Students can choose famous women or women within their own lives (or you can decide this for them). Additionally, students are choosing what THREE details to focus on.

The quality that sets this project apart from the others is that the final step of this project is to CREATE A VIDEO. Think Social Media here. Students will use their completed slides for the backdrop of their video and add their own vocal flair for the audio! Make sure to check out the model to get an idea of what the finished product could sound like (keep reading to find the link).
This project is perfect for kids who are interested in being a Social Media influencer, love theatre, or simply have a flair for the dramatic ;).
4. Female Fiction Character
Do you have any book worms in your class? If so, this last project would be ideal for them…and likely a breeze to complete. For this project, students get to focus on a female fiction character. It could be their favorite or it could simply be a female character that stuck out to them.

They’ll start by completing the first two “Book Overview” pages and then move on to completing the graphic organizers that focus specifically on the character they’ve chosen.
Finally, they’ll put that all together to create a One-Pager. Book worms and artists alike will enjoy this project. Again, make sure to continue reading to hear about the examples that students will have access too.
5. Assessment & Feedback Tools
In addition to the four project types, this bundle comes with rubrics, student feedback forms, and a quick and simple student reflection.

The rubric is incredibly detailed – this means it is objective AND clear. Not only does it’s structure and detail make the expectations clear for students, but it also makes grading these projects a breeze! Additionally, I’ve included multiple templates to allow for flexibility of use. Change the points allotted for the projects and the criteria used to assess the project. Go from using a 1-5 score of Doesn’t Meet, Attempting, Partially Meets, Meets, and Exceeds to a simple 1-3 of Doesn’t Meet, Partially Meets, and Meets. They’re editable to fit YOUR STYLE and PREFERENCES.
The student feedback forms provide an easy way for grading but more importantly, for students to be able to review the scores they receive. Each feedback form type provides space for additional, more specific feedback as well! You receive editable templates for the feedback forms as well!
The final assessment and feedback tool is the student reflection form. This is a super, simple form but provides the instructor feedback on what students thought about the difficulty level of the assignment, the amount of support they received, the level of interest students had in the project, and a place for additional notes. Again, an adjustable template is included.
Alright – let’s move onto some of the fantastic features that EACH PRODUCT contains. There are THREE main things I want to draw your attention to.
IMPORTANT – These assessment & feedback tools could really be used for almost any project you have students do. I even added one additional color scheme in the resource so that it may be used for projects other than just the Women’s History Month Activities.

Completed Models
Every project in the bundle has at least one slide that contains a completed model of all of the assigned pages.
This support is vital in making sure students understand what they’re aiming for AND is especially important for support ALL of the learners in our space.
Additionally, giving students access to these models will fill them with more confidence and piece of mind that will aid in their ability to complete the projects independently or with less support from you.
Detailed Instruction

Every single product has text boxes in all of the places that need to be completed. These text boxes guide the learners toward what information needs to be added to the page.
In addition to the text boxes, many of the projects have additional notes and arrows that provide even further detail. As you can see in the images on the left, there is much clarity and direction provided.
The text boxes make it easy for students to get started without having to fuss over font sizes or text boxes and the additional arrows and instructions can easily be deleted before students submit the final version of their project.
Inclusive Graphics

Last, but certainly not least, is the feature of inclusive graphics. Inclusivity is one of the main foci I have for the products I create.
I want students to GET EXCITED when they see the tools they’re about to work with and I’ve never seen more excitement than when students SEE THEMSELVES in the resources they’re using.
The color palette, swirls, dots & squiggles, and the images I’ve selected are specifically chosen for the diversity and inclusivity they embody. The artists in Canva are TRULY talented. How wonderful that we and our students get to benefit from their creativity!
We’ve now made our way to the final piece of this fantastic bundle – – The Freebie!
The Freebie
I don’t know about you, but when I introduce a project to students – – especially one that contains choice – – I want to have a place where they can see it all at one time; a place that allows them to compare and contrast. The freebie included is the exact place for that.
This freebie includes a completed Project Choice Chart that provides some basic detail about all four projects: the project type (what they’ll be expected to do), the project description, and the number of “pages” they’ll be expected to complete for that type.
NOTE: I’m admittedly a little wary about the page # row as I don’t want a higher page number to throw students off. Make sure to emphasize here that a higher page number DOESN’T equate to a more difficult project. For example, “Top 5” Notable women is technically 6 pages PLUS a video, but what is needed to COMPLETE these pages is much less than say one page of the Spotlight on a Woman project.

The Freebie also includes an Examples chart. This chart provides a quick access point for the completed models of each project. This again will give students a fast, clear reference for decided which project they want to do.
The freebie also includes a template of each of these (the project choice chart and the project examples chart). This way, if you make changes to projects, requirements, or make your own examples, you can edit these as necessary.
Do you like the graphic design of this bundle? If so, you might be interested in the Daily Slides FREEBIE with the same details!
